Course Overview
This course covers the nationally recognised unit UETDRMP018 – Perform rescue from a live low voltage panel, from the UET Transmission, Distribution and Rail Sector Training Package. Participants will develop the skills and knowledge required to safely rescue a person from a live low voltage electrical panel in accordance with electrical safety regulations, Australian Standards, and industry best practices. All assessments are conducted in accordance with the assessment conditions outlined in the UETDRMP018 unit, using real or realistically simulated workplace environments and equipment that meet Electrical Safety Regulation 2013 (QLD) requirements.

Prerequisites & Entry Requirements
🔹 Prerequisites: Participants must have completed HLTAID009 – Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (Or complete alongside this unit)
🔹 Minimum Age: 16 years
🔹 English Language: Participants must complete a Language, Literacy, and Numeracy (LLN) assessment to ensure they can meet course requirements. We offer LLN assistance, learning support, and referrals to other services. Speak with our team before enrolment if you require additional assistance.
🔹 Physical Fitness: A reasonable level of fitness is required for the practical components.
🔹 Identification: Valid photo ID (e.g. Driver Licence)
🔹 USI Requirement: Participants must have a Unique Student Identifier (USI) to enrol. Visit www.usi.gov.au for more info.
🔹 PPE: Participants must wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including high-visibility shirt or vest, and closed in shoes.
📋 Note: All participants complete a brief Learner Suitability Self-Assessment at the start of the course to confirm their readiness and identify any support needs.

The total volume of learning includes supervised training, supervised assessment, and any required unsupervised/self-paced study.

Assessment Methods
Assessment is conducted in line with the principles of competency-based training and includes:
📖 Knowledge Assessment – Written/multiple-choice questions to assess underpinning theory and legislative knowledge.
🛠 Practical Demonstration – Simulated rescue from a live low voltage panel, including hazard identification, PPE selection, isolation procedures, and casualty management.
📋 Scenario-Based Assessment – Application of rescue procedures within realistic workplace scenarios, following organisational and safety requirements.
All assessments must be completed in person under the observation of a qualified assessor, using industry-standard equipment, and in accordance with the unit’s assessment conditions and licensing requirements.

Upon successful completion of all training and assessment requirements, participants will be issued with a:

This course is eligible for Construction Skills Queensland (CSQ) funding under the 2025–2026 Short Course Program. CSQ provides financial support to help upskill Queensland’s building and civil construction workforce.

(fully funded by Construction Skills Queensland + $50.00 non-funded administration fee)
Applicants must receive written confirmation of CSQ funding approval before commencing training, as retrospective claims are not permitted. Funding is subject to eligibility and availability.

⚠️ Important Prerequisite Information
To enrol in LVR (UETDRMP018) you must also hold a current CPR (HLTAID009 – Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) certificate.
If you have not yet completed CPR, you must undertake this unit before or at the same time as your LVR training.
Corrsafe cannot issue your LVR Statement of Attainment without proof of CPR completion.

🔹 Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) – LVR
If you already have significant industry experience performing Low Voltage Rescue (LVR) and hold current CPR skills, you may be eligible to apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
The RPL process requires you to provide sufficient, valid, and current evidence of your competence, such as:
♦ A current Statement of Attainment in HLTAID009 – Provide CPR (mandatory prerequisite).
♦ Workplace records confirming your role in performing LVR tasks.
♦ Third-party verification from a supervisor/employer.
♦ Evidence of participation in electrical safety and rescue drills.
♦ Practical demonstration of your rescue skills (may be required).
⚠️ Please note: A current CPR certificate is mandatory. Corrsafe cannot issue an LVR Statement of Attainment without this evidence.
