What is CSQ Funding?
Construction Skills Queensland (CSQ) is an independent, not-for-profit, industry-funded organisation that supports employers, workers, apprentices, trainees, and career seekers in Queensland’s building and construction industry.
Through its funding programs, CSQ helps reduce the financial barrier to training, making it easier and more affordable for people in the industry to upskill or gain new qualifications. CSQ-funded training is delivered by approved Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) across Queensland.
CSQ provides a contribution towards the cost of eligible training. The amount of funding varies by program and course. Depending on Corrsafe’s course fee and the applicable CSQ contribution, an eligible participant or their employer may be required to pay a participant contribution. This ensures quality, accessible training that helps build a stronger, safer, and more skilled construction workforce in Queensland.
How does CSQ Funding Work?
If you are currently or recently employed in Queensland’s building and construction industry, you may be eligible for CSQ-funded training. Eligibility requirements vary between CSQ programs and courses, and Corrsafe will assess and verify your eligibility before funding can be applied.

CSQ Funding Eligibility
Who Can Get CSQ Funding?
You may be eligible for CSQ funding if you:
✅ Are currently working in, or meet the applicable recently employed requirements for, Queensland’s building and construction industry.
✅ Meet the citizenship, residency or eligible visa requirements of the applicable CSQ program.
✅ Meet the employment and occupational requirements of the applicable CSQ program.
✅ Are undertaking training that is eligible for CSQ funding.
Eligibility requirements vary between CSQ programs and courses.
Who Is Not Eligible for CSQ Funding?
CSQ funding is subject to the eligibility and participation requirements of the applicable CSQ program.
Depending on the program, a participant may not be eligible for CSQ funding if they:
🚫 Do not meet the applicable citizenship, residency, visa, employment or occupational requirements.
🚫 Are undertaking training as part of an apprenticeship or traineeship where the applicable CSQ program excludes this training.
🚫 Are currently enrolled in a Queensland secondary school program where excluded under the applicable CSQ program.
🚫 Are an employee of an Authority, except where an applicable CSQ program permits eligible workers, such as eligible council construction workers.
🚫 Are a contracted trainer, assessor or existing worker of a Registered Training Organisation where excluded under the applicable CSQ program.
🚫 Are receiving funding from another source for the same training where this is
not permitted under the applicable CSQ program.
🚫 Have reached the maximum number of CSQ-funded courses, High Risk Work units, Mobile Plant Operator units or other training permitted under the applicable CSQ program during the current program period.
🚫 Are seeking funding for a Verification of Competency (VOC) only.
Construction Skills Queensland Funding
Corrsafe Training & Safety Services is a contracted CSQ Training Provider.
Through CSQ funding, eligible participants may be able to access subsidised training for selected courses delivered by Corrsafe.
CSQ funding is subject to participant eligibility, course eligibility, applicable program requirements, available funding and Corrsafe’s CSQ funding allocation.
