The HLTAID011 Provide First Aid course equips participants with the knowledge and skills to respond effectively to a wide range of medical emergencies at work, in the community, or at home.
This course aligns with the Safe Work Australia – Model Code of Practice: First Aid in the Workplace, ensuring compliance with WHS legislation and best practice. Learners will develop confidence to assess, respond, and manage incidents safely.

Prerequisites & Entry Requirements
🔹 Prerequisite:
To enrol in UETDRMP018 – Perform Rescue from a Live Low Voltage Panel (LVR), participants must meet the following requirements:
✔️ CPR (HLTAID009 – Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) must be completed prior to or in conjunction with the LVR training.
🔹 Minimum Age: 16 years
🔹 Language, Literacy & Numeracy: Participants must complete a Language, Literacy, and Numeracy (LLN) assessment to ensure they can meet course requirements. We offer LLN assistance, learning support, and referrals to other services. Speak with our team before enrolment if you require additional assistance.
🔹 Identification: Valid ID required (e.g. driver’s licence, or passport).
🔹 Physical Requirements: A reasonable level of fitness is required for the practical components. To successfully complete this course, you must be physically capable of performing at least 2 minutes of uninterrupted single rescuer CPR (5 cycles of compressions and ventilations) on an adult resuscitation manikin placed on the floor, and performing at least 2 minutes of uninterrupted single rescuer CPR (5 cycles of compressions and ventilations) on an infant resuscitation manikin placed on a firm surface.

📌 Note: CPR (HLTAID009) is delivered as part of HLTAID011 First Aid, so no separate enrolment is required for CPR if undertaking First Aid.
All practical training and assessment must be face-to-face under a qualified assessor, using industry-standard equipment in either real or simulated workplace conditions, to meet WHSQ and licensing requirements.

Assessment Methods
Assessment is competency-based and includes:
📖 Knowledge Assessment – Written/multiple-choice questions covering underpinning theory and legislative knowledge.
🛠 Practical Demonstration – Simulated LVR rescue and CPR/First Aid scenarios, including AED use, hazard identification, PPE, and casualty management.
📋 Scenario-Based Assessment – Workplace-style emergencies requiring application of rescue and CPR/First Aid procedures under organisational and safety requirements.
All assessments must be completed in person, observed by a qualified assessor, using industry-standard equipment, and in line with unit requirements.

Upon successful completion of all training and assessment requirements, participants will be issued with:

🔹 Physical Requirements: To successfully complete this course, you must be physically capable of performing at least 2 minutes of uninterrupted single rescuer CPR (5 cycles of compressions and ventilations) on an adult resuscitation manikin placed on the floor, and performing at least 2 minutes of uninterrupted single rescuer CPR (5 cycles of compressions and ventilations) on an infant resuscitation manikin placed on a firm surface.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) – First Aid, CPR & LVR
Corrsafe Enterprises Pty Ltd (RTO 40621) recognises that participants may already hold relevant experience and current competence in First Aid (HLTAID011), CPR (HLTAID009), and Low Voltage Rescue (UETDRMP018). If so, you may be eligible to apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
Evidence Requirements
Applicants must provide sufficient, valid, current, and authentic evidence to demonstrate competence. This may include:
🔹A current Statement of Attainment in HLTAID009 – Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (mandatory for both First Aid and LVR).
🔹 Workplace records showing involvement in CPR, First Aid delivery, or emergency responses.
🔹 Evidence of LVR tasks carried out in an electrical environment (for UETDRMP018 applicants).
🔹 Participation in first aid drills, rescue drills, or electrical safety procedures.
🔹 Third-party reports or supervisor verification confirming your role in providing First Aid, CPR, or LVR.
🔹 Practical demonstration of skills (may be required to confirm competence).
Important Notes
⚠️ A current CPR certificate is mandatory for issuing either First Aid (HLTAID011) or LVR (UETDRMP018).
Corrsafe cannot issue an LVR Statement of Attainment without CPR evidence.
All RPL assessments must still meet WHSQ, Electrical Safety Office, and ARC guideline requirements, ensuring learners demonstrate competency under real or simulated workplace conditions.
