Course Overview

This nationally recognised course provides participants with the skills and knowledge required to respond to electrical emergencies by performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and conducting a rescue from a live low voltage (LV) electrical panel in accordance with WHS, Electrical Safety and ARC (Australian Resuscitation Council) guidelines.

Participants will learn how to:

✅ Perform CPR in accordance with Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines
✅ Identify hazards and assess risks associated with live LV panels
✅ Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
✅ Conduct a safe and effective rescue of a person in contact with live LV electrical equipment

Upon successful completion, participants will receive a Statement of Attainment for:
HLTAID009 – Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
UETDRMP007 – Perform Rescue from a Live Low Voltage Panel

This course meets the requirements of the Electrical Safety Regulation 2013 (QLD) and Work Health and Safety Regulation 2011 (QLD) for annual CPR and LVR refresher training.

This course is suitable for individuals who may be required to respond to electrical incidents in the workplace, including:

✔️ Site supervisors or managers in environments with live electrical work

What You’ll Learn

The course covers the following key areas:

✅ Performing CPR on adults, children, and infants
✅ Identifying and managing hazards associated with live LV electrical panels
✅ Inspecting, testing, and using rescue equipment (LV gloves, mats, rescue crook)
✅ Executing rescue procedures to safely remove a casualty from live equipment
✅ Understanding legal responsibilities, WHS obligations, and duty of care
✅ Effective communication and coordination during electrical emergencies

Prerequisites & Entry Requirements

🔹 Prerequisite:
To enrol in UETDRMP007 – Perform Rescue from a Live Low Voltage Panel (LVR), participants must meet the following requirements:

✔️ CPR (HLTAID009 – Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) must be completed prior to or in conjunction with the LVR training.

Participants must also hold either:

✔️ A current Queensland Electrical Licence, or
✔️ The competency UETDREL006 – Work Safely in the Vicinity of Live Electrical Apparatus as a Non-Electrical Worker (EA).

Important: LVR cannot be issued unless CPR is successfully completed and the EA prerequisite has been met.

🔹 Minimum Age: 13 years
🔹 Language, Literacy & Numeracy: Basic English and numeracy skills are required
🔹 Identification: 100 Points Valid ID
required (e.g. driver’s licence, passport, Medicare card). Special conditions apply for school students.

Course Duration

📆 Full Course: Approximately 6 hours (combined theory and practical components)
📍 Location: Corrsafe Training Facility or on-site at your workplace (conditions apply)

Please note: All practical assessments must be completed in person to meet competency requirements.

Assessment Methods

Participants will be assessed using a combination of:

📖 Theory Assessment – Multiple choice and short-answer questions
🛠️ Practical Demonstration – Hands-on rescue and CPR skills using manikins and safety equipment
📋 Scenario-Based Roleplay – Simulated emergency response situations

Certificate & Outcome

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a:

These units are nationally recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) and meet the requirements of the Work Health and Safety Regulation 2011 (QLD) and Electrical Safety Regulation 2013 (QLD).Refresher training must be completed every 12 months to maintain workplace compliance.

✔️ Participants must be currently employed in the construction industry or actively participating in the workforce.
