UETDREL006 – Work safely in the vicinity of live electrical apparatus as a non-electrical worker

UETDREL006 – Work safely in the vicinity of live electrical apparatus as a non-electrical worker

Course Overview

This course aligns with UETDREL006 from the UET Transmission, Distribution and Rail Sector Training Package. Participants will develop the skills and knowledge required to work safely near live electrical apparatus, without undertaking electrical work, in accordance with Work Health and Safety (WHS) regulations, Electrical Safety Acts, and Australian Standards.
While there are no formal licensing requirements at the national level, this unit is commonly required by electrical supply authorities, distribution network service providers (DNSPs), and principal contractors to authorise non-electrical workers to work near live electrical apparatus. Always confirm site-specific requirements with your employer or network operator.
All assessments are mapped to the unit’s elements, performance criteria, foundation skills, performance evidence, and knowledge evidence, ensuring compliance with the Principles of Assessment and Rules of Evidence.
