Project Details
Adani Mining Pty Ltd (Adani) has appointed POSCO Engineering and Construction Australia Pty Ltd (POSCO E&C) as a preferred EPC Contractor for the construction of Abbot Point Coal Terminal 0. Adani and POSCO E&C will jointly develop the EPC pricing mechanism and formally sign a final EPC Agreement by the middle of 2015. Under this Agreement, POSCO E&C will invite tenders for the subcontract packages.
The Abbot Point Coal Terminal 0 Project entails the construction of a new terminal, which will be located to the south of the existing Terminal 1 facility at Abbot Point, located northwest of Bowen in Queensland.
POSCO E&C is a general construction company established in Korea in December1994.One of the company’s major business areas is providing EPC services in: steel and power plants; civil and transport infrastructure projects; mining; water and environmental plants; building and architecture; and, urban development. In August 2011, POSCO E&C Australia was established, and the company is currently involved in mining and infrastructure projects across WA, NSW and QLD.
