Prerequisites & Entry Requirements

🔹 Minimum Age:  Participants must be at least 16 years of age.

🔹 English Language: Participants must complete a Language, Literacy, and Numeracy (LLN) assessment to ensure they can meet course requirements. We offer LLN assistance, learning support, and referrals to other services. Speak with our team before enrolment if you require additional assistance.
🔹 Physical Fitness: A reasonable level of fitness is required for the practical components.
🔹 Identification: Valid photo ID, please refer to page 9 of Evidence of Identity document.
🔹 USI Requirement: Participants must have a Unique Student Identifier (USI) to enrol. Visit www.usi.gov.au for more info. Corrsafe verifies each USI with the Registrar prior to use, in accordance with the Student Identifiers Act.
🔹 PPE: Participants must wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including high-visibility shirt or vest and closed in shoes. Training will be conducted using an industry-standard telescopic materials handler, relevant attachments, and compliant PPE. Corrsafe can supply PPE (hi-vis and steel-cap boots) if required.

📋 Note: All participants complete a brief Learner Suitability Self-Assessment at the start of the course to confirm their readiness and identify any support needs.

Course Duration & Volume of Learning

A typical skid steer attachment course is delivered over:

🔹 1 day for experienced skid steer operators
🔹 1–2 days for new or inexperienced learners

Duration may vary depending on learner experience, number of attachments covered, and delivery method.

Assessment Methods

Assessment includes:

📖 Knowledge assessment (written and/or oral)
🛠 Practical demonstration of skid steer operations using attachments, including:

Attachment selection and fitting
Safe operation and task execution
Hazard identification and risk controls
Working around services, people, and obstacles

📄 Completion of relevant workplace documentation (e.g. SWMS or risk assessments where applicable)

All assessment activities are mapped to the unit’s elements, performance criteria, and evidence requirements.

Upon successful completion, participants will receive a:
