Course Overview
The RIIMPO315E – Conduct Tractor Operations unit provides participants with the skills and knowledge required to safely operate a tractor in civil construction, agriculture, landscaping, local government, mining support, and infrastructure environments.
This course covers planning and preparing for tractor operations, conducting pre-start inspections, operating tractors with or without attachments, managing site hazards, and shutting down equipment in accordance with workplace procedures and WHS legislation.
Training focuses on safe operating techniques, stability awareness, towing and attachment use, and working effectively in varied terrain and environmental conditions.

Prerequisites & Entry Requirements
🔹 Minimum Age: Participant must be at least 16 years of age.
🔹 English Language: Participants must complete a Language, Literacy, and Numeracy (LLN) assessment to ensure they can meet course requirements. We offer LLN assistance, learning support, and referrals to other services. Speak with our team before enrolment if you require additional assistance.
🔹 Physical Fitness: A reasonable level of fitness is required for the practical components.
🔹 Identification: Valid photo ID, please refer to page 9 of Evidence of Identity document.
🔹 USI Requirement: Participants must have a Unique Student Identifier (USI) to enrol. Visit www.usi.gov.au for more info. Corrsafe verifies each USI with the Registrar prior to use, in accordance with the Student Identifiers Act.
🔹 PPE: Participants must wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including high-visibility shirt or vest, and closed in shoes. Training will be conducted using an industry-standard telescopic materials handler, relevant attachments, and compliant PPE. Corrsafe can supply PPE (hi-vis and steel-cap boots) if required.
📋 Note: All participants complete a brief Learner Suitability Self-Assessment at the start of the course to confirm their readiness and identify any support needs.

A typical tractor course is delivered over:

🔹 1–2 days for new or inexperienced learners

Assessment Methods

📖 Knowledge assessment (written and/or oral questioning)
🛠 Practical demonstration of tractor operations, including:
Pre-start inspections, Safe operation and manoeuvring, Hazard identification and risk control, Operating with or without attachments, Parking, shutdown, and securing equipment
📄 Completion of relevant workplace documentation (e.g., risk assessments or pre-start checklists)
All assessment tasks are mapped to the unit’s elements, performance criteria, and evidence requirements.

Upon successful completion, participants will receive a:

Corrsafe Enterprises Pty Ltd does not accept prepaid fees exceeding $1500 per learner prior to delivery. All fee management complies with Clause 18 of the Compliance Standards for RTOs 2025.

🎓 Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
Corrsafe offers Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) for experienced operators who believe they already possess the skills and knowledge required for RIIMPO315E – Conduct Tractor Operations.
RPL allows your existing skills, work history, and previous training to be formally assessed against the requirements of the unit of competency.

RPL does not guarantee the issue of a Statement of Attainment. Competency is determined only when sufficient, current, authentic, and valid evidence is provided and verified in accordance with the Rules of Evidence and Principles of Assessment.
