Application

This unit describes a participant’s skills and knowledge required to operate a gantry or overhead crane, including planning and preparing and performing operational servicing. This unit is appropriate for those working in site-based roles.
The work required in this unit relates to the National Standard for High-Risk Work, but this unit does not provide the licence. Licensing, legislative, regulatory and certification requirements that apply to this unit can vary between states, territories and industry sectors, and must be sourced prior to application of the unit.

Admission Criteria

This course does not have any formal prerequisites. Nonetheless, it is essential that you have fundamental skills in reading, writing, and mathematics. An assessment in Language, Literacy, and Numeracy (LLN) may be necessary before you can enrol.

Achievement Recognition

Participants who fulfill all the necessary assessment criteria, settle any outstanding payments, and provide all the requisite supporting documents will receive a Nationally Accredited Statement of Attainment along with a Photographic Identification Card.

Validity & Renewal of Course

Typically, this course requires renewal every 5 years. However, depending on specific industry or organisational standards, a more frequent or extended renewal period might be necessary. Participants are allowed to update their skills at any point during this timeframe to meet any industry or company requirements.
