Application

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to respond to a range of local emergencies and incidents. It includes implementing response plans, monitoring the situation, taking necessary precautionary measures, and supporting formal relief.
This unit applies to those working in site-based roles in the coal mining, metalliferous mining, drilling, extractive, and civil infrastructure environments. Licensing, legislative, regulatory and certification requirements that apply to this unit can vary between States, Territories, and industry sectors, and must be sourced from state jurisdictions prior to applying the unit.

Admission Criteria

This course does not have any formal prerequisites. Nonetheless, it is essential that you have fundamental skills in reading, writing, and mathematics. An assessment in Language, Literacy, and Numeracy (LLN) may be necessary before you can enrol.

Achievement Recognition

Participants who fulfill all the necessary assessment criteria, settle any outstanding payments, and provide all the requisite supporting documents will receive a Nationally Accredited Statement of Attainment along with a Photographic Identification Card.

Validity & Renewal of Course

Typically, this course requires renewal every 5 years. However, depending on specific industry or organisational standards, a more frequent or extended renewal period might be necessary. Participants are allowed to update their skills at any point during this timeframe to meet any industry or company requirements.
