Course Overview
This course aligns with CPCCLDG3001 – Licence to Perform Dogging from the CPC Construction, Plumbing and Services Training Package. Participants will develop the skills and knowledge required to safely and effectively perform dogging work in accordance with Work Health and Safety (WHS) regulations, Australian Standards, and industry best practices.
Dogging work involves:
πΉ The selection and inspection of lifting gear
πΉ Calculating load weights and sling techniques
πΉ Directing crane operations using whistles, hand signals, and radios to ensure safe and effective lifting practices
A High Risk Work Licence (HRWL) for Dogging (DG class) is required by law to carry out dogging tasks in Australia. This course is the mandatory pathway to obtain that licence.

Prerequisites & Entry Requirements
πΉ Minimum Age: Students may undertake the training prior to turning 18; however, they cannot apply for their HRWL until they are 18 years of age.πΉ Literacy & Numeracy: Basic proficiency in English to understand technical information and complete assessments.
πΉ Physical Fitness: A reasonable level of fitness is required for the practical components.
πΉ Photo ID: Students must supply 100 points of identification (e.g., driver’s licence, passport, Medicare card, financial institution card).
πΉ PPE: Participants must wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (e.g., steel-capped boots, gloves, helmet, high-visibility clothing).
Course Duration
π Full Course: 4 days (including theory and practical training)
Course Delivery Methods
π Face-to-Face Training: Delivered at our Corrsafe training facility or on-site (conditions apply)
π Pre-course Preparation: Students will receive reading material prior to the training day, which should be reviewed in advance.
π Workplace Training: We offer flexible on-site training using our mobile training trailer
Assessment Methods
Assessment includes:
π Theory Assessment: Multiple-choice and short-answer questions to test knowledge of lifting techniques and safety practices
π Practical Demonstration: Students must demonstrate correct dogging procedures, use of lifting equipment, and communication with crane operators
π Workplace-based Assessment: May be arranged under certain conditions
Certificate & Outcome
Upon successful completion, participants will receive a Statement of Attainment for CPCCLDG3001 – Licence to Perform Dogging, issued by Corrsafe RTO 40621.
This unit is nationally recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).
Participants will be eligible to apply for a High Risk Work Licence (DG class) with WorkSafe Queensland or the relevant state authority.

βοΈ CSQ funding is not available retrospectively
βοΈ Funding availability is subject to CSQ terms and annual funding limits
βοΈ Must hold evidence of working in a construction industry. (e.g., White Card, Blue Card, SOA, QBCC Card, Work Card, Invoice, etc)
