CPPFES2004A Identify types of installed fire safety equipment and systems. This unit of competency specifies the outcomes required to accurately identify fire safety equipment and systems and their function. This unit of competency supports individuals responsible for interacting with customers as a representative of their organisation, discussing fire protection service needs for a variety of equipment and systems and referring customers to senior staff in the organisation for further consultation if necessary.

CPPFES2005A Demonstrate first attack firefighting equipment. This unit of competency specifies the outcomes required to demonstrate the use of portable fire extinguishers, fire hose reels and fire blankets. This unit of competency supports fire protection equipment service technicians responsible for demonstrating to customers how to interpret and follow manufacturers’ instructions on various first attack firefighting equipment in emergency situations.

PUAWER004B Respond to workplace emergencies. This unit covers the competency required to recognise emergencies in the workplace, to report emergencies and to take appropriate action. For this unit workplace is defined as the area encompassed by an individual’s responsibilities. This unit has been developed to cover the broad range of emergencies and workplaces as considered in Australian Standard 3745 — 2010.
